Cigré Survey, Reliability of HV Equipment and GIS

2004-2009

Scope

Study of high-voltage circuit-breaker, disconnector, earthing switch, and Instrument transformer failures and defects in service in the voltage range of 72,5 kV up to and including 800 kV.

The aim is to determine reliability data and trends, based on a worldwide enquiry. The results of the enquiry will, for circuit-breakers and instrument transformers, be compared to the results of previous Cigré studies. For circuit-breakers, only SF6 single pressure types are to be covered. For disconnectors and earthing switches, both open-air and SF6 insulated types (GIS) are to be covered.

The enquiry will be coordinated with a similar enquiry to be undertaken by WG B3.02 TF 02, Service experience with GIS.
